Now you can cultivate mushrooms at home

Here is all you need to grow tasty mushrooms at home, with this organic growing kit from Radis et Capucine. Paris mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus) are otherwise known by a variety of names. You may know them as common, white or button mushrooms. When mature they are often called Portobello mushrooms. Under any name, however, they are remarkably easy to cultivate, and within just a few days you can have a fine crop of organic mushrooms. Kids, too, have great fun growing this fascinating edible fungi.

The ready to grow Paris mushrooms kit contains:

A white polystyrene box with lid, size 30 x 27 x 16 cm
Fertilised and enriched straw containing mycelium
Growing medium in a closed bag
Certified as produced by organic farming

How to grow mushrooms in your home
Comb the straw with a fork, open the growing medium bag and pour the contents over the straw, then water with a fine spray. Replace the lid of the box with the lugs out and place the culture in a darkened environment, ideally at a temperature of between 15 and 20?C. Spray with water every 3 to 4 days. Your mushrooms will grow in 2 to 3 weeks. When harvesting, do not cut the stems, but rather tear the mushrooms, as this will promote the regrowth of mycelium and a new crop. 2 to 3 crops are possible.
