Composition:

  • 1 5.5 cm terracotta pot
  • 1 coconut loam pastille
  • 1 sachet of mix of flowers seeds

Cultivation mode:

  • Soil: To promote successful germination, start by soaking the fertilized coconut lozenges in 5 to 6 times their volume of water; they will instantly swell. Unpack them and fill the pot with a spoon. Remember to keep a small part of it to cover the seeds after sowing.
  • Sowing: open the bag and pour some seeds into your hand. If they are too small, add sand to facilitate sowing. To sow, sprinkle the seeds on the wet, uncompacted coconut soil, with a maximum of 2-3 seeds per pot. Save the remaining seeds for a later sowing or to sow them directly in your garden or on your balcony when the weather is nice. Gently cover the seeds with the fertilized coconut soil and tamp lightly.
  • Watering: preferably use rainwater or filtered water (without chlorine). Prefer a watering in fine rain, ideally with a sprayer, to keep the soil just wet, without soaking it with water, throughout the culture. Think of the soil as a damp sponge that you then have to wring out. Do not let the coconut soil dry.
  • Germination: Expose them to sunlight behind a glass window, without putting them directly over a heater, to promote rapid and abundant germination. Alternatively, from the month of April, expose your balcony, windowsill, or terrace to the sun. The seeds of pollinating flowers take a few days to germinate, and the plant then develops if it is well watered.
  • Transplanting: No transplanting is required; the crop is done by direct seeding. If necessary, aerate by removing some plants if your seedling is too dense, in order to leave a plant every 15 cm.
  • Flowering: The mixed honey flowers bloom between July and September, when bees and butterflies search for nectar and pollen.

To know: bees, it is very beautiful to see, but above all it is very useful for the balance of the environment. In fact, together with other insects such as bees and many others, they ensure the pollination of flowering plants and thus participate in a major way in the production of fruits, therefore seeds, and are major players in the reproduction of species. Attracting them to his garden is therefore also an issue of interest. The safest way is to sow flowering, colorful species, especially those rich in nectar, which they are fond of.
