Easy to use, it’s a great opportunity to introduce children to the world of gardening while providing them with a rewarding educational experience. The seeds included in this kit are premium quality, certified organic, adding a responsible dimension to your approach.
Composition:
- 4 squares of 10 cm coir to be rehydrated (once rehydrated, it swells rapidly and forms the growing medium).
- 4 thick, watertight plastic bags to act as growing plots.
- 4 packets of organic seeds: watercress, radish, sunflower and cherry tomato.
- 2 sheets of decorations to color and cut out
- 1 explanatory booklet for use and cultivation
Growing instructions:
- Coco soil preparation: Start by rehydrating the fertilized coco soil in the bag with lukewarm water. Compact with a fork so that all the soil is moist, but drain off any excess water.
- Sowing: divide visually. Your planter into 4 squares and sow one variety of seed per square. Spread the cress seeds evenly over the entire surface of your 1/4. For radishes, sow a seed every cm. Finally, for sunflowers and cherry tomatoes, sow only 2 or 3 seeds per variety, spacing them out. Press the seeds lightly into the substrate with your fingertip, cover with a little soil, and press down. Save the remaining seeds for later sowing in your garden or balcony.
- Watering: Water lightly with a spray bottle filled with rainwater or filtered water after sowing to moisten the potting soil. Maintain constant humidity by watering regularly, but avoid overwatering.
- Germination time: watercress seeds germinate in 24 hours, radish seeds in 3 to 4 days, and sunflower and cherry tomato seeds in a week. Be patient and keep a close eye on the first shoots.
- Transplanting: there's no need to transplant watercress or radishes. For tomatoes and sunflowers, keep the strongest plant and carefully remove the others, without breaking the stems or roots, to replant them in other pots or directly in your garden.
- Harvesting: The harvesting period varies according to the plants grown. Watercress can be cut after 3 days and eaten as a salad. Radishes grow in 3 weeks. Tomatoes blossom in 6 weeks and bear red berries 15 days later. Finally, sunflowers flower after 2 months; they will be small, as they adapt to the soil available. Sow other plants in larger pots or in your garden, and you'll have larger tomatoes and flowers and lots of tomatoes.
