- Sowing: Immerse lotus seeds in a vase filled with rainwater (or filtered water).
- Germination: Expose the vase to sunlight behind glass, but not over a heater. Lotus seeds may take up to a week to germinate. The plant then grows normally in clear, non-chlorinated water.
- Transplanting: When the seedlings reach 10 to 15 cm in length, transplant one plant per 10/15 cm diameter pot and immerse them in a basin, taking care that the pot doesn't fall over. Be careful not to break stems or roots when transplanting.
