Composition:
- 1 transparent vivarium (dimensions: 30 x 23.5 x 6 cm)
- 8 x 6 cm coco plates for rehydration.
- 1 bag sand (800 g)
- 1 bag pozzolan (200 g)
- 3 bags of Amsterdam carrot seeds
- 2 Vigna magic beans
- 1 bag of “transparent white” radish seeds
- 1 peanut seed
- 1 instruction sheet
Growing method :
- Fertilized soil: to promote successful germination, start by soaking fertilized coco pellets in 5 to 6 times their volume of water; they will swell instantly. Mix them and fill each pot carefully. Don't forget to keep a small portion to cover the seeds after sowing.
- Sowing: Sow well to the edge of the vivarium so that you can see the roots, spaced out, pushing the seeds 5 cm into the soil. Pack lightly and water lightly to avoid displacing the seeds.
- Watering: ideally, use rainwater or filtered (chlorine-free) water. Prefer light rainfall, ideally using a hand-held sprayer, to keep the soil just moist, but not waterlogged, throughout the growing period. Water the soil, not the leaves, as this can bring disease to young vegetables. Think of the soil as a wet sponge, then wring it out. Don't let the soil dry out.
- Germination: Expose to sunlight behind glass, not over a heater, to encourage rapid and abundant germination. Seeds take one to two weeks to germinate.
- Transplanting: no need to transplant here. Everything stays in place to see the roots.
- Harvesting: carrots and radishes will appear after 3 to 4 weeks and continue to grow. Beans will grow fast and should be staked as they are climbers.
Our advice: earthworms are living creatures that you need to find in your garden by turning over some soil with a shovel, then feeding them with dead leaves on top of the soil and watering your vivarium regularly! Sow the seeds along the wall so that you can see the roots, and leave the cover in place to prevent the roots (which are afraid of light) from hiding in the middle so that you can't see them.
