Composition:
- Bag size 13x13cm with 3 seeds of Ginkgo Biloba
Cultivation mode:
- Sowing: Put the seeds in a wet sand bag in the bottom of your fridge for 2 weeks so that the seeds wake up gently (stratification). Then gently plant a seed sprouted by pot by pushing it 1 cm. Cover the seeds with lightly fertilized soil and tamp slightly.
- Watering: Ideally use rainwater or filtered water (without chlorine). Prefer a watering in fine rain, without touching the plants too much, ideally using a hand sprayer, to keep the soil just wet, without gorging it with water, throughout the culture. Think of the earth as a wet sponge, then wrung out. Be gentle and measured.
- Germination: the seeds of tree to be sown directly germinate like other seeds. Expose to sunlight behind a window, without putting on top of a heater and ideally with a plastic water bottle cut out to serve as a greenhouse. Seeds can take a week to germinate. Keep the seedlings under the plastic bottle for as long as possible to retain heat and moisture. The plant then grows normally but slowly.
- Transplanting: When the seedlings emerge and reach 5 to 10 cm in height, select only one plant per pot and transplant the others into new pots or planters, always keeping heat and humidity for these young plants. Be careful not to break the stems or roots when transplanting and water to promote regrowth. You can take out the pots in the wind and rain when the plants are strong and with a suitable temperature.
- Harvest: The leaves are harvested for use in teas, liquid extracts or food supplements. They are usually harvested in the fall, when they turn yellow and when their content of active ingredients is at its maximum. It can grow in pots and be nanified bonsai but also grows several meters high in your garden.
