Composition :
- Sachet 13x13cm avec 1gr de graines de bourrache borrago officinalis
Cultivation mode:
- Seed sowing: Open the bag and pour the seeds into your hand. Sow directly in your garden or in pots on a balcony when the temperature is favorable, pressing the seeds 5 mm and spaced them 25 cm.
- Water: Use preferably rainwater or filtered water (without chlorine). Prefer a watering in fine rain, ideally using a manual sprayer, to keep the soil just wet, without gorging with water, throughout the culture. Imagine the soil that has to stay like a wet sponge and then be drained. Don’t let the coconut land dry.
- Germination: Expose them to sunlight behind a glass window, without placing them above a heater, to promote rapid and abundant germination. Alternatively, from April onwards, expose your balcony, window sill or terrace to the sun. The seeds of the borage flower take a few days to germinate and the plant then grows if it is well watered.
- Transplanting: there is no need for transplanting, the crop is done by direct seeding/planting. If necessary, aerate by removing a few plants if your seedling is too dense. Attention each borage plant will need 25 cm to grow.
- Harvest: Borage (Borago officinalis) is an annual plant but its seeds fall to the ground and easily regrow in place each year. Grown for its edible leaves and bright blue flowers, it is harvested as they appear throughout the season. They are used to decorate salads and dishes, or infused in drinks.
- En + : Borage is appreciated for its medicinal properties. Borage leaves are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins and minerals, making them a nutritious and revitalizing food with a cucumber taste for use in salads, soups and side dishes. The bright blue borage flowers, with a delicate taste of iodized oyster, are also used for decorating dishes.
