Growing instructions :
- Prepare pots: place the supplied coco pellets in each terracotta pot. Add water to rehydrate them until they become a ready-to-use substrate.
- Sowing seeds: Genovese basil and purple basil: sow the seeds to a depth of around 0.5 cm. Peppers: sow seeds approx. 1 cm deep.
- Germination conditions: place pots in a warm, bright spot, at a temperature of between 20 and 25°C. Make sure the substrate remains slightly moist by watering regularly, but avoid excess water to prevent seed rot.
- Plant care : After germination: once the seedlings have emerged, continue to expose them to plenty of light. If natural light is insufficient, consider using a grow lamp.
- Watering: keep the substrate moist, but not soggy.
- Thinning: if several plants are growing too close together, thin them out, keeping only the most vigorous to avoid competition.
- Transplanting (if necessary): once the plants have reached a height of 10 to 15 cm and outside temperatures are sufficiently warm (generally after the last frosts), you can transplant them into larger pots or in the open ground. Be sure to acclimatize them gradually to outdoor conditions over a period of a few days.
- Harvesting: Basil: start harvesting when the plant has developed several pairs of leaves. Pinch off the tips to encourage bushy growth. Peppers: Peppers are ready to harvest when they reach their mature size and characteristic color.
