Composition :

  • 1 terracotta pot "Antique", diameter 13 cm
  • 1 sachet of Tomato cherry seeds Bio to sow
  • 3 coconut lozenges to rehydrate
  • 1 mode of cultivation

Cultivation mode :

  • Coconut lands: To promote successful germination, start by soaking the fertilized coconut lozenges in 5 to 6 times their volume of water: they will inflate instantly. Remember to keep a small amount to cover the seeds after sowing.
  • Sowing: Open the bag and pour the seeds into your hand. If they are too small, add sand to facilitate sowing. To sow, spread the seeds on the wet soil of non-compact coconut, maximum 2 to 3 seeds per pot. Save the remaining seeds for a later sowing or to sow them directly in your garden or on your balcony when the weather is sunny. Gently cover the seeds with fertilized coconut soil and tamp lightly.
  • Watering: Use preferably rainwater or filtered water (without chlorine). Prefer a watering in fine rain, ideally with a hand sprayer, to keep the soil just wet, without saturating it with water, during the whole culture. Water the soil, not the leaves, because it can bring disease to young vegetables. Imagine the soil as a damp sponge, then drained. Do not allow the coconut soil to dry.
  • Germination: Expose to sunlight behind a glass, without putting on a radiator, to promote rapid and abundant germination. Tomatoes take a few days to germinate and the plant grows quickly.
  • Planting: When the seedlings appear and reach 3 to 5 cm in height, select only one plant per pot and transplant the others into new pots or planters. Water to promote regrowth.
  • Harvest: Let it grow, keep only 3 or 4 bouquets of flowers per stem and cut just above the second leaf after the bouquet. The harvest of red fruits lasts from June to October.
  • Our advice: Cherry tomatoes are small, fragrant, firm and crunchy, so they are best enjoyed raw, nibbled at the aperitif. But in the garden, this very productive variety can give large quantities of tomatoes, you can also make delicious sauces.
