Growing method :

• Fertilized soil: To encourage successful germination, start by soaking fertilized coconut soil pellets in 5 to 6 times their volume of water; they will swell instantly. Mix them and fill the pot with a spoon. Don't forget to keep a small amount to cover the seeds after sowing.
• Sowing: Sow 3 to 5 seeds in the pocket filled with rehydrated potting soil. Keep the rest for later sowing or to sow directly on your balcony when the weather's right. Gently cover the seeds with fertilized coconut soil and pack lightly.
• Watering: ideally, use rainwater or filtered (chlorine-free) water. Prefer light rainfall watering, ideally using a hand-held sprayer, to keep the soil just moist, but not waterlogged, throughout the growing period. Water the soil, not the leaves, as this can bring disease to young vegetables. Think of the soil as a wet sponge, then wring it out. Don't let the soil dry out.
• Germination: expose to sunlight behind glass, without heating, to encourage rapid and abundant germination. Tomato germination takes a few days, and the plant grows rapidly.
• Transplanting: When the seedlings emerge and reach 3 to 5 cm in height, select a single plant per pot and transplant the others into new pots or planters. Water to encourage regrowth
• Harvesting: Leave to grow, keep only 3 or 4 flower clusters per stem, and cut above the second leaf after the cluster. The red fruits are harvested from June to October.
